This manual provides an overview of how the 1995 Mekong Agreement and the procedures of the five RCMs support sustainable results for development and realize the benefits of cooperation. An agreement of the member countries of the Mekong River Commission on Cooperation for the Sustainable Development of the Greater Mekong Basin, which was approved by THE MEMBERS OF THE MRC in Chiang Mai, Thailand, in 1995. Through this agreement, the governments of Cambodia, the Lao People`s Democratic Republic, Thailand and Vietnam agree to cooperate in all areas of sustainable development, use, management and conservation of water and related resources of the Greater Mekong River Basin.
